My story as Lily Read Jewellery

My Ethos

As both a jewellery designer and maker, I handcraft all items using traditional goldsmithing techniques, focusing on small batch production to reduce waste. My aim is to create pieces with longevity, each finished to a high quality.

I believe in the principles of luxury through craftsmanship, contemporary through form, and fashionability through simplicity and adaptability. Inspired by the geometry and interlocking shapes found in art and architecture, my jewellery is a blend of creativity and precision.

Every piece I create is made with care and a focus of quality to last.

How It All Began

My journey into jewellery began in the UK with a BA in Three-Dimensional Design from Manchester School of Art, where I fell in love with metalwork. Fascinated by interlocking mechanisms and the precision they require, I pursued further training through the renowned Jewellery and Goldsmithing Skills and Design Course in Kilkenny, Republic of Ireland. While in training I explored a range of bespoke work, from silver jewellery boxes to functional silver eyewear and diamond-set rings.

Relocating to Denmark in January 2024, I am now in my studio based in the Latinerkvarteret, Aarhus. I work on collections and offer a variety of services, including bespoke, made-to-order, remodelling old jewellery, providing repairs, designing engagement and wedding rings. I also offer workshop experiences in jewellery making on certain dates throughout the year.

Whether you're after something from the silver collection, a made-to-order gold piece, or something completely bespoke, I’d love to create jewellery that reflects your vision.
